We Care About Your Vision Health
Many eye diseases progress without noticeable symptoms—routine eye exams are your best defence against them.
We have invested in various diagnostic technologies for a detailed look at your vision and eye health. With ophthalmologists on-site, we can both diagnose and manage eye diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetic eye disease.
Our comprehensive eye exams include thorough screenings for these conditions. Book an eye exam and meet our amazing eyecare team.
Book AppointmentEarly Detection Means Early Treatment
Detecting eye diseases in their early stages allows for prompt diagnosis and intervention, leading to better treatment outcomes. Innovative diagnostic technologies help us detect even the earliest signs of eye disease.
With early detection, we can implement an effective personalized treatment plan to preserve your vision and prevent further disease progression.
Book AppointmentOur Diagnostic Technology
We take examining your eyes seriously, so we use advanced diagnostic technology and testing when evaluating your vision to thoroughly check for any abnormalities or changes over time.
Each test we perform and the devices we use serve a different function and evaluate a different angle of the eye. Most tests are noninvasive, quick, and necessary for understanding the health of your eyes.
Even with no symptoms, eye diseases still leave other signs. Monitoring your eyes using these tools can identify many eye problems before they progress and affect your vision.
Optical Coherence Tomography
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a noninvasive imaging test that takes cross-sectional pictures of the retina. These images show the layers of the retina and their thickness and help us diagnose and manage diseases like glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
We use the Zeiss OCT.
Humphrey Visual Field
The Humphrey visual field test evaluates peripheral, or side, vision.
The Humphrey visual field test uses automated technology to map the visual field and periphery by having the patient look at a single stimulus. Visual field testing is important for detecting diseases like glaucoma.
Goldmann Visual Field
The Goldmann perimetry test measures the visual field like the Humphry visual field test but is done manually. During this test, a stimulus is moved into position until the patient can see it. Visual field testing can detect and manage diseases like glaucoma.
Retinal Photography
Retinal photography, also known as retinal imaging, takes high-definition pictures of the entire eye, including the retina. Retinal photography can show detailed parts of your eye and help identify eye diseases like retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, monitor changes in your eyes over time, and determine how your eyes respond to treatment.
Eye Conditions & Diseases
Many factors can contribute to developing eye conditions or diseases, such as family history, age, or certain medical conditions, such as diabetes.
Management and treatment plans for eye conditions and diseases include diagnosis, monitoring, surgical preparation, and various treatment options. With ophthalmologists on-site, we can diagnose, manage, and treat many eye conditions in the clinic.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve. Sometimes, increased internal eye pressure leads to this damage, but glaucoma can occur even when eye pressure is within normal limits.
Glaucoma testing and management include diagnostic testing using Zeiss OCT and visual field tests. We can also perform an angiogram to closely examine your eye’s blood vessels and determine if surgery is required. Our ophthalmologists can assist you with preparing for glaucoma surgery.
Cataracts
Cataracts develop when the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy with age, causing blurry vision, halos, sensitivity to light, and trouble driving at night.
Our practice offers pre and post-op management for cataract surgery, providing a diagnosis and more information about the procedure and assisting with recovery and management.
We may offer cataract surgery in our clinic in the near future.
Diabetic Eye Disease
If you have diabetes, you may be at risk of developing diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy occurs when prolonged high blood sugar levels damage the retina’s blood vessels and cause swelling.
We treat our diabetic patients by monitoring their eyes regularly and providing any diagnosis. If surgery is required to treat retinopathy, we co-manage treatment with trusted colleagues.
Age-Related Macular Degeneration
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) occurs when age-related changes damage the macula, the centre of the retina responsible for central vision. AMD leads to central vision loss and can affect your ability to read, drive, and recognize faces.
We can diagnose and manage AMD in our clinic using angiography and other diagnostic tests. Different stages of AMD include dry and wet AMD. If AMD has advanced to wet AMD, where abnormal blood vessels grow in the back of the eye, we may refer you to a retina specialist to co-manage care.
Here to Manage Your Condition
We want you to feel safe and cared for when seeking a diagnosis or treatment for an eye condition or disease. We encourage our patients to be regularly tested and screened for common eye diseases to protect their eye health and vision.
